Pray over your season. We’re starting simple, at the very best kind of beginning. Start with your heart in the right place – start in prayer. Don’t enter battle unarmed, the kitchen without ingredients, the holiday season (or any busy season) without a heart open to Him.

The only way to stay above water is to trust the One who walked on the waves.

Pray. For yourself. Your family. Your days, that they would not be overfull. Your heart, that it would overflow with thanks. For the clear message of Christmas to strike your soul anew:

‘I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.’ Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.’
Luke 2:114

This is the only way to begin a season of celebration, of joy, of thanks, of love.
