friday finds (4)

Hi friends! I’m so happy you’re enjoying this series. It’s been fun to hear from many of you about it! Now grab a coffee and let’s chat about this weeks finds!

Plemo Laptop Sleeve
I’ve been traveling a bit for work this summer, and I’ve wanted a new laptop sleeve for a while. Honestly, I want all of these pieces that the Nester wrote about. When I read that post months ago, I knew her laptop sleeve was exactly what I wanted. She’s got one from the brand fashionABLE, which is a beautiful organization that gives back, offers sustainable wages for their employees, and that I totally can’t afford right now. #goals

But inspired by hers (pictured below left), I scoured Amazon for a cheaper look-a-like laptop sleeve… and I found it (below right)!

Listen, I know it’s not buttery soft leather that was ethically produced. But for under $15, it serves the purpose I need and I don’t care if my kids spill on or scratch it. I get compliments on this sleeve wherever I take it, and friends – seriously. It’s less then $15. Getcha some.

Disney’s The BFG

Last week I went to a preview of this book-turned-movie. I invited my little brother, because as kids we LOVED the story of The BFG by Roald Dahl! And the film adaptation didn’t disappoint us.

Disney's THE BFG is the imaginative story of a young girl named Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) and the Big Friendly Giant (Oscar (R) winner Mark Rylance) who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. Directed by Steven Spielberg based on Roald Dahl's beloved classic, the film opens in theaters nationwide on July 1.

It was magical and sweet and a little dark. This is not a film for little ones. I mean, the premise is that an orphan is snatched out of her bed at night by a (big friendly) giant, and after becoming friends, together they come up with a plan to stop the (bigger, un-friendly) giants from snatching and eating other children. Not really little kid friendly. But it’s big kid friendly – I think 10 and up would enjoy it. We sure did! While the premise is dark, the execution is light. Does that make sense? It was so well done, and at times the whole theater was laughing together!

If you and/or your family goes to the movie, I’d love to hear what you think. And I’m so happy to be able to give you a couple fun freebie printables! Just click the image below to download them.
